Nothing to say more than masterpiece! The Dark Side of the Moon is eighth studio album from Pink Floyd, All songs written about stress and pressure of modern life that running through their head after the band discuss about fear of dying, the seduction of money and the issue of mental unbalance.

It’s such a complicated album concept, Roger Waters went to work on lyrics and completed his lyrics with simple word and direct communication. At the same time they used weird sound such as alarm clock sound, cash register machine sound and the bass drum is beating a pulse that resembles the beating of human heart in their first track ‘Speak to me’ and into second track ‘Breath’ seamlessly. At last their have Alan Parsons as sound engineering to fill this masterpiece.

Moreover, The minimal pyramid with lighting rainbow on album cover became to Pink Floyd symbol later. Designer Storm Thorgerson said about album cover, He want simple and unique and the band didn’t want band name or their face on cover. However, the album was critical success and remained in the Billboard for 800 weeks over 15 years between 1973-1988 with an estimated 45 million copies sold and it’s one of the best-selling worldwide of all time.

Eclipse (A Piece for Assorted Lunatics)

It was almost named Eclipse (A Piece for Assorted Lunatics) because The Dark Side of the Moon was meant to be a part of a journey into madness not outer space.
